Droplets are introduced into the airstream, then a pulsed laser is used to illuminate them at 5 microsecond intervals as they pass over the object being tested. Mynoise is just a bunch of multitrack nature recordings that loop together and can be volume changed over time. Much more tolerable imo, since the RMS volume is less due to periods of calm in the recordings. Hope this helps

ALON can be pressed and sintered – which is easier for fabrication than Sapphire (which is generally how the optics industry refers to Al2O3). Sapphire needs to be grown with a crystal puller. Unfortunately, the sintering process leaves inclusions that have hampered precision optical applicaitons to date.
