Am I correct in assuming that the oxynitride means that the aluminium atoms are no longer exposed in a way to be reactive to oxygen? IOW this stuff won’t oxidize? That was my first question when I saw the words “transparent aluminium”, which seems to be something of a misnomer, because aluminium normally oxidizes very rapidly, and nobody would want a window that tarnished quickly.
